The Surfactants Association of India (SAI) is the representative and unifying body of India’s surfactants and allied products industry, bringing together manufacturers, distributors, traders, dealers, brokers, and associated stakeholders from across the value chain. Surfactants play a critical role in modern life—spanning hygiene and healthcare, agriculture, textiles, energy, consumer goods, and advanced industrial applications—and India’s surfactants sector is witnessing rapid growth driven by rising domestic demand, export opportunities, and the transition toward sustainable chemistry.
SAI exists to protect, promote, and advance the collective interests of the surfactants industry while supporting trade, commerce, and industrial development connected with allied sectors in India and globally. The Association works to uphold the reputation, character, and professional standing of its members by encouraging ethical, transparent, and honorable business practices, guiding the adoption and maintenance of quality standards, and discouraging unfair or unethical practices across the industry.
Acting as a bridge between industry, government, regulators, and global markets, SAI represents industry perspectives before Central and State authorities, statutory bodies, and international forums. We actively engage on matters related to policy, taxation, environmental compliance, standards, trade facilitation, intellectual property, and export promotion. Through dialogue, research, and representation, SAI seeks to address industry challenges, protect member rights and privileges, and create an enabling environment for sustainable and responsible growth.
SAI also promotes collaboration and unity among industry participants by encouraging discussion on matters of common interest, organizing seminars, exhibitions, delegations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, and supporting skill development and capacity building within the sector. We assist members in adopting best practices in quality, safety, sustainability, and innovation, while supporting access to raw materials, technology, training, and global partnerships.
Guided by the ethos of “Integrity as a Standard and Collaboration as a Strength,” SAI is governed by a committee of experienced industry professionals who work collectively to ensure that India’s surfactants ecosystem remains credible, competitive, forward-looking, and aligned with societal and environmental responsibility.
